A Date with the Emperor
See what was buried with the first Emperor (210-209 B.C.)
- Thousands of life-size clay statues were buried underground to accompany China's first Emperor (Qin Shihuangdi) into afterlife.
- Generals, soldiers, kneeling archers, charioteers and more - each are realistic, distinguishable, unique with a variety of ethnic facial features, expression and hairstyle.
- Discovered in 1974 in Xian, Shaanxi Province of China. It is one of the greatest archaeological finds of all time. Considered as the "Eighth Wonder of the World."
- UNESCO recognized it as "World Culture Heritage" site in 1987.
